Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 26, 2026
This is an example privacy policy for the Minshop demo. The demo is provided to show how the storefront works. It is not a real shop, nothing is actually for sale, and the demo checkout does not charge you.
Please do not enter real personal, payment, or shipping information. Information submitted to the demo may be recorded in its database and visible to the demo operator.
If you use Minshop to operate a real store, replace this policy with one reviewed for your business, services, location, and customers.
Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, the demo may collect:
- Order information, such as an email address, the products selected, quantities, prices, and order status
- Shipping information, such as a name and delivery address, if a checkout flow requests it
- Account information, limited to the email address used for a passwordless sign-in link
- Cart information, including product identifiers, selected options, and quantities stored in a browser cookie
- Technical information processed when you visit, such as your IP address, browser or device details, requested pages, timestamps, and security events
- Information you send us, if you contact the demo operator
The demo does not ask you to create a password. When customer accounts are enabled, sign-in uses a time-limited link sent to your email address.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Operate and demonstrate the storefront
- Maintain your cart and session
- Process and display demo orders
- Provide order confirmations and account sign-in links when email is enabled
- Prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and protect the site
- Understand whether the demo is working as intended
We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Cookies
Minshop uses functional cookies to provide features you request. These may include:
- A cart cookie that remembers selected products for up to 30 days
- A cart-count cookie used to display the number of items in the cart
- A signed customer-session cookie, when accounts are enabled, that lasts for up to 30 days
- Security or administrative session cookies used to protect restricted areas
These cookies are used for storefront operation, authentication, and security—not advertising.
You can remove cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may clear your cart or sign you out.
Payments
The Minshop demo uses a simulated checkout and does not charge you. Do not enter real payment details.
A real store may connect an external payment provider. In that case, payment information is submitted directly to that provider and handled under its own privacy policy. The store may receive transaction details such as payment status, amount, provider reference, and limited customer or shipping information, but it should not receive full card numbers.
Service providers
The demo relies on service providers to host and protect the site, store data and images, deliver email, and support optional payment or search features. These providers may process information only as needed to supply their services and according to their own terms and privacy practices.
The site currently runs on Cloudflare infrastructure. A store operator may configure additional providers for payments, email, fraud prevention, or other optional features.
When we share information
We may share information:
- With service providers that operate the site or a feature you request
- When required to comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request
- When necessary to investigate abuse, enforce site rules, or protect the rights and safety of the store, its users, or others
- As part of a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale, subject to appropriate safeguards
We do not sell or rent personal information.
Data retention
The demo may retain submitted order and account-related information until the operator resets or deletes the demo data. Browser cookies remain until they expire or you remove them.
A real store should define retention periods that match its operational, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal obligations, and delete information when it is no longer needed.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information, including encrypted connections, signed session cookies, restricted administrative access, and controls provided by our infrastructure providers.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. Because this is a public demonstration, do not submit information you consider private or sensitive.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, such as the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about how it is used. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.
To make a request, contact us using the address below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some information may be retained when required by law or necessary for security, fraud prevention, or legal claims.
Children’s privacy
The demo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
International processing
The site and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, a real store operator should describe the safeguards used for international transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this example policy when the demo or its services change. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised.
